We learn life lessons from our circumstances, the people we meet, the places we go and most of the time from the book we read. I believe the process of life is all meant for evolving oneself into a better person. In my life journey, books have contributed a lot; to be confident, to be kind and to be brave. So I want to share with you five such fiction books that would make a difference in your life.
A Thousand Splendid Suns By Khaled Hosseini
If you are a person who always blames life adversities, then you should read this book. Our life predicaments are trivial when they compare with people’s lives in war zones like Syria. Hosseini’s books are all set in Afghanistan during the time of the Taliban reign. A thousand splendid suns, tells you the story of two women whose lives journey converge at a point of time. The author has flawlessly put together the gender inequalities, marriage culture, education rights that existed in Afghanistan during the barbaric reign.
So what I learnt from the book are, being a woman should not imply you are weak; whatever life throws at you, keep going forward and be kind to everyone.

A Man Called Ove By Fredrick Backman
Have you ever thought innocent relations are vanishing from our minds? During the journey of my life, this thought often had me worried. But after having read Ove’s story, I got a tinge of hope that kindness and true relations still exist. A man called Ove is a translated work from the Swedish language. Ove is a 59-year-old widower who has been in search of a way to end his lonely life. But his destiny has something else for him. This story will let you cry, laugh, smile and think. Life is always unpredictable but beautiful, only if you would pay attention to the people around you. A great message it passes to readers is pure relations cannot be defined by blood connection but love.

The Book Thief By Markus Zusak
Historical fictions are one of my favourites genres, especially those set in the time of second world war. The Book Thief tells you the story of non-Jewish people in Germany who are forced to join Hitler’s Nazi party. This book has given me an entirely different perspective of Nazi Germany. It provoked me to think of how external adversities affect the reality of people. How negativity takes over their innocent souls. I learnt one thing from this book, no matter what setbacks you would have when standing for the right, do always stand for justice.

The messages these books convey to the readers seem similar, but the stories each book holds are different. Not everyone could connect with all the books mentioned above, but one or two. We see things differently, experiences things differently; so we learn things differently. Hence I choose five books which have a different plot and character development. Hope you will pick up any or all of these books in future.
